Child Support For My 3 Month Old?

I have a 3 month old daughter; her father is currently paying Child Support for his other girl in PR; Now I want to get
Child Support for my daughter even when I live with him because we are not legally joined and our economy is critical. Is that legal? and if so, would that make any difference in the amount both kids are receiving?

I'm sorry, but I have no experience with this particular issue, and the laws regarding it are probably very different from one State to the next.

You will have to check with your state. I know how hard it is, as I was in the same situation and have a child with autism. The state of Texas said "not our problem"...and thus, no, I was not able to file unless he moved out...so at the end, it was money vs. having his father around...

Thank you; for a second I thought my situation was very bad. It's good to be reminded that others had had it worse. Plus, I talk to someone that knows about this and she said that no, we can't do anything. I hope we can find a way to work things out though.
