Confused violence and parenting rights

in december \'07\' my partner at the time strangled me and assulted me it was the first time he had done that but he was controling emotionally 4 the 7 months we had been 2gether, we hav a 2 year old daughter 2gether he left me wen he found out i was pregnant and then came back wen she was 8months old,he never made the time 4 her of me wen we were 2gether, he got arrested that nite and charged with male assult female and i got a protection order, he does not pay child support even tho he has been ordered 2 and has not seen her since december,i have a lawyer and we are suposed 2 b going 2 mediation 2 sort the parenting order out but it has been 3 months since i have herd nething, now i want 2 take it 2 a full trial because i dont want him 2 have nething 2 do with my daughter again wat r my chances of winning? i no he has rights 2 c her but if he did rely care it could have been sorted months ago, and i would have delt with it, i hope that this makes sence and thanku 4 taking !the time 2 read it.

You won't be able to strip him of all rights if he decides to fight it, but you may be able to limit him to supervised visitation.

hi im going through exactly the same thing.iv been to mediaton which failed.im now fighting for supervised visits and my sons dad is fighting unsupervised,its horrible having to go thro this,but do whats best for the child.if you feel theres a threat to the child then fight
