My husband is having child support taken out of his check every pay period for a child who he believes is not his. The child lives in another state and we need to know the steps need to be taken in order to resolve this problem.

It depends on the State. Some States say that whether the man is that actual father or not is irrelevant, and will continue to assess support even if DNA proves he is not the father.
Ohio recently changed its laws regarding this, and other States may be modifying theirs as well. So, you really need to consult an attorney in the State of jurisdiction. |
