I have a little dilemma, not me myself but my boyfriend.
He needs help. the mother of his son is trying to take away time from spending time with his son due to money. this year he has spent more time with his son and his son will be attending school all day so she will not need a babysitter for their son. the mother got a new job that pays more and she got married. not only that but my boyfriend so far has made a lot less money this year so he knows she is worried about keeping the money. She said she wants for him to only get him six days out of the month. He is upset and doesn't want to lose time with his son just because of money. He doesn't care about the money she can keep what she gets or take more he just wants to keep the time. where can he get help? what can he do? he can't afford a lawyer. He is a great dad brakes my heart to see what he is going through. if you can give any information it would be appreciated |

Child support and visitation are two separate issues. If the court order says he has to pay X amount of support, that is how much he has to pay. If the court order says he gets X number of days with his child, then the mother cannot withhold that visitation for any reason.
If the financial situations of the parties change, you can talk to a child support case worker about recalculating the amount that you owe. They will do this only if the net change in child support will be at least 10%, either way. Be aware that if the mother is making more money, the father's obligation may even go up under some circumstances. The formulas they use are very complex. |
