Question Serving the Deadbeat

Hey Everyone,

Well I am having a hard time getting the court documents served
Now the process server I hired is having a hard time catching the dad as well
I can not make a mediation appt until this is done. My court date is Aug 7th

What do I do, what will happen? Will the judge make me another court date,
If I cant get the documents over to the other party involved? It was a task for me to file the court documents now I have another speed bump.

Any suggestions or other ways to get this done. I read some where about
publishing in a newspaper, any suggestions or replys would be greatly appreciated.

Default Re: Serving the Deadbeat

I am in the exact same position. I have a deadbeat dad that went into hiding in another state. I found out where he works and tried to have him served and he and the people he works with are playing games with the person trying to serve him. I paid to find out his home address. My lawyer is sending certified mail to that address. If that doesn't work we can get it approved by the judge to get it served to his home without a signature. Unfortunately you have to go through the process to get what you want. I was told that if we didn't have the address then you are out of luck unless you have the money to have a PI track him down. Isn't that crazy you have to put out more money to get the guy who is supposed to be making his payment for his child. Even if you get a judgment, that is no guarantee that he'll pay. That's a whole other process. The thing for us is we don't even care about the money so much anymore. We just want his parental rights terminated. He pops into her life every once in a grand while and has had a history of abusing her and this is what we have to go through to get this coward out of her life.
