Non US citizen child, US resident dad

Hi, my daughter's dad and I are not married. I am not a US citizen or US resident and my daughter is staying with me. My daughter's dad however is a US resident and working in California. I would like to ask if my daughter has a right to child support.

i want to know if i can get a u.s. passport for my child whose father is a u.s.citizen.the father acknowledge my child in her birth cert. i am a filipina.thank you

Here is the link to the US passport site. There is an "in person" requirement for first time applicants. You may need to contact them.

Passport Home

The child has to meet these requirements to be a US citizen:

At least one parent is a U.S. citizen,

The child is under 18 years of age,

If the child is adopted, a full and final adoption of the child, and

The child is admitted to the United States as an immigrant.

So, I don't think a US passport is doable now. But you may need an attorney to be sure.
