My husband and I got married in 2002, I had a child in 1998. My parent were upset about the person I married and convinced me to come back and live with them. In 2003, I left my husband for 2 weeks and I took my son down to FL to live with my parents. My parents were very controling and I left and left my son with them, I did not tell them I was leaving fearing it would be a big fight. I called them (the next day) and told them I wanted to come back and get my son and they refused. Stating I had abandonded him. I want my son back and I was told my parents were trying to terminate my rights. In the meantime they filed a child support order on me and my husband (they know my husband is not the father). They said in 2005 they sent in a request for DNA and we ignored it (we were between addresses at the time). Now my husband has gone down to FL twice and the case has closed and he has to file for a paternity test. Please provide information on getting a paternity and how I can get my son back. We currently live in NC and it is very hard to go to FL for court, is there anything we can do?

Your son has been with your parents since 2003?
What have you been doing since then? Had you wanted, you could have gotten your child back immediately. There are five years to this story that you are not telling us about. |
