EEK! Custodial vs. resident

My child has lived with me, in TN, from 10 yrs of age to 17 years of age. My ex, who lives in TX, is suing me for back support simply because she was the custodial parent. She has not provided any support to me in the seven years he lived with me but expects me to pay her support for that time period. How can she get support money from me for the time that our child lived soley with me in a differant state and she is the one who requested that he move in with me???

She can if you don't fight it. You will need to provide plenty of documentation that the child was under you sole care for the past 10 years. You should not have let this go on for so long.
