Thumbs Down Father refuses to Acknowledge my child but wants rights to my finances if i die!

I have a Three year old daughter. My ex left me when I was pregnant and has since refused to support us. I have received not one penny from him, even though from the day she was born I have been in talks with the CSA. Now he has been dodging them for all this time, and only now has he began talking with me.

This, however, is not the main issue of my concern. I have over a dozen emails from my ex partner saying he wants nothing to do with 'my child'. He never refers to her using her name, only as 'your daughter'. He says he only will now pay up, but there again he said that months ago and still nothing. I have many emails of him repeating and repeating he wants nothing to do with her and if she ever tried to contact him, he would send her away. He says he never wanted children, and never will. And says my daughter is his finacial bind.

He refused to sign the birth certificate, although we now have DNA Proof he is the dad (another one of his delaying ploys)

However, i asked about him signing papers regarding if something would happen to me, he would be happy not to have a claim over her, or my finances/business/property.

My parents have expressed strongly that they would want custody, if i died. My daughter & I have lived with them & have done since she was born. They look after her 7 days a weeks. This is her home.

But her father now says even though he doesn't want to know her now, he knows his rights and if i die he wants it all.

If i refuse financial support, and don't communicate with him ever, will this null his claim?

Please, please help i'm really scared about what he could do to my family.

If you are divorced, how does he have any rights to your funds if you should die?
