I need to protect my baby and myself. Your opinion appreciated.

Shocked when pregnant and planning to move in together, he never moved in. Could not get ahold of him when bringing baby home, so I never added his name to the birth certificate, & baby has my last name.
Got a phone call from his wife shortly after stating they have been married for over 30 years. He started drinking heavy, and disappearing for weeks, to a month on end at times during the first months of baby being born. Still can't figure it out, he was always around before.
When he does show up, he was always drunk and high on marijuana, wreaking of it. Said he could not move in because he was on probation for being busted with marijuana, had probation officer visits at his house (where him and his wife reside). ALL NEW NEWS TO ME!
He misses loads of visits that I have offered him and always has no money, bounced a $1,000.00 check in my bank account, another disaster.
He called recently and said he had been in jail, that was why he did not show for his last visit. I have never let him take the baby alone, don't trust him in the car with him. His wife emailed me recently again, and said she is not happy with this situation and her husband is a lieing XXX. Someone is constantly showing up at my door around 11:30 PM, it is a female, and she has another female with her. I think it is her and I think she has followed him here when he has come in the past for a visit. I have told him, he said he does not believe it is her, HA HA!!! She is MAD! I am close to putting up a minature camer outside my door! I told him to talk to her, what could I do if approached in my hallway with a 14 month old in my arms. I can't believe I am in this position.
I am uncomfortable here and when my lease is up in July, I will be moving and not telling him where I am going.
I would rather disappear then let my baby go in a car with this man, or over to his wifes house where she will mis treat him! I am at a loss, I need to protect my baby and myself.
I don't want child support, I don't want anything now! I can do the finances alone as I have been doing!!!
What do I need to do at this point to avoid him, his wife and all of this mess?
Feeling so stupid and vulnerable.
