Unhappy Can I leave the state??

Hello, I currently live in CA and most of my family is back east in NY. I have two children and am divorced from their dad who works in Hawaii and can travel anywhere to see his kids during his two months time off from work twice a year. No problem here...my real problem is I met a man about six months ago and became pregnant about 15 weeks ago. He has major problems with my kids 8 & 10 and says I have no control over them. He has lived with us on and off for the past few months and is a very heavy drinker and has subjected me and my kids to his horrible negative behavior. He does not have a real job and I have always worked very hard to give my kids a better life here in CA. However I need help with the arrival of this baby and am lucky to have a family back east who will love and support me in any way. I can transfer with my job to NY and want to know if I can leave the state prior to the babys arrival and if needed can I still process a parternty claim and child support? I don't see that I will have any other alternative...HELP

You can go yes. He could possibly try to file in court to delay or control the travel but most courts will let you go for family and work reasons. He can make arrangements to visit if he wants to.
