Confused Don't know what to do?!?

I am a 35 yr old mother of a son, 13 and a girl, 10. They both live with their father. I walked out on him 8 yrs ago from mental and emotional abuse. Unfortunately I suffer from clinical depression. Something I can't control without meds. I am seeing specialists and taking my meds like I am suppost to. Up until last year my ex and I didn't have any courts involved we both were civilized and worked things out for the kids. Now he has papers held over my head. I don't get to see my children like I would like to. He has been calling me for the past seven months and harrassing me about everything. Telling me I do nothing for my children, my children don't love me, and they don't want to be with me. THAT IS NOT TRUE! My kids are so happy when they are with me and show all affection towards me like I do them. I would lay down and die for them. Unlike some parents I want to be a mother to my children and their dad has taken that away from me because of his hate for me. Kids need both parents in their lives no matter what. My point is cops won't get involved because it is a custody issue. Harassment is not a custody issue. He calls me I only call to talk to my kids. Can't afford a lawyer and don't know what to do. He is getting away with stuff he shouldn't. Anyone have any advice what I can do? I am grateful for any feedbacks. thank you He is holding physical custody and partial custody papers over my head. He made these papers up himself with a lawyer. I couldn't afford a lawyer and he threatened to keep my children from me if I did not sign them. Noone would help me.

You haven't said what kind of papers he is holding over your head.
