not at fault accident, no licence do i need a lawyer?
A Couple weeks ago my friend had to go to the post office 3 blocks away and the road were icy, this man pulled out right infront of my friend and my friend slid into the mans back end. It was clearly the other mans fault and he agreed and so did the cop after the accident a priest came walking up to see if everything was ok, only then i learned the vehicle i hit was the lead car in a funeral, yea i understand that they have the right away but he had NO flashers, lights or anything just an average car. everybody new it was his fault. The cop later came over to question my friend and he does not have his licience so he said he was his friend, and gave the cop an old proof of insurance. We live in Iowa where it is mandatory to have insurance.
So we called to make an insurance claim to get our truck fixed and now the other mans insurance is saying that it is my fault cuz i have to yield for a funeral but i was looking up the laws for iowa and they have to have flashers,so forth and so on but they did not. im not sure what to do get a lawyer or do you suppose i can pull this off by myself? |

Is that not going to be an issue if you try to deal with the insurer? That was not legal of course to say that... |

Kinda late,
but in PA... lead car in funeral must stop at reds and stop signs. The lead car must yield prior to proceeding. |
