A bartender countinually serves an intoxicted person liquor,when that person leaves the bar he is involved in an accident injuring only himself ,is he entitled to sue the tavern owner for countinuing to serve him alcohol despite being visbly intoxicated?

In many states he can sue yes--or be charged criminally in some cases. Your local DA will know the law as well and you may contact their office to confirm.

can anyone please cite a case in N.Y.S. where the patron of a tavern was sucessfull in an action to recover damages who was continually served alcohol by the bartender despite being visually intoxicated and was later involved in a car accident injuring only himself
