Confused Can they sue? The insurance paid the max that they allowed...

I have a friend who's daughter of 20 years recently got into a car accident. The vehicle is under my friends name but her daughter was the one driving. The insurance paid the max that they allowed but now the other party is suing for more. They decided to sue my friend's and are going after her property which is her house. Can they do this since the one who got into the accident was their daughter who is overage?

The parents insurer should handle this.

They can be added in some cases since it was their car, but again their insurance should handle this for them.
