uninsured

I was hit by a uninsured driver driving a rental car from behind. He was found at fault. He didnt take insurance out on the rental car. He rear ended my car and my bumber came off a little. I took it to the dealer for an estimate of $1600. What will most likely happen in this case? Because I know the unisured driver will not pay for the damages.

You could sue him in small claims?

dont know if this where to ask this but i am being taken to court for not supplying the name of the driver of my car that was in an accident and they know it was not me, but because i didn't tell them. It's me in court now,there was no other car involed.

My queston is can i go to jail over this?

criminal court or civil

they could subpoena you or you could be made to tell in a civil case unless it puts you at risk of incriminating yourself
