Is this legal: I was in a car accident last year in my grandmother's car i was not insured on the car but she had liability insurance and they wouldn't pay for the damages because i was not covered, and it was her car i am now being sued 15,000 dollars which i dnt have i am a college student and they are saying if i dnt pay it that they will suspend the registration on my grandmothers new car and suspend both she and my license.

If her insurance did not cover any other driver then they need not pay. But most policies do cover an authorized user.

So is it legal for them to suspend the registration on my grandmothers car and her license as well if the 15,000 dollars can't be paid

Hi, My son in law and his mother both lost their license, over 10 years ago and they cannot get it back till they pay $25,000 to an Ins. co. He told me you can't even get a work permit..
