Confused Can the Insurance Company Choose?

i was in a car accident in texas, i gave the estimate to the person who was at fault's insurance provider, and they want to make the check out directly to the repair shop. can i demand that they make the check out to me instead, or do they have the right to choose? because i don't really want to make the repairs, i just want the money. thanks

Normally they will make it out to you instead if you push the issue.
