License Suspension

Hello, I received a letter in the mail about 3 months ago from the Ohio DMV. They stated that they needed proof of insurance for a specified date. The problem is for a 6 month period of my life i did not have it, of course the date fell during that time. During the time I did not have it my wife and I were seperated and she had the car that was uninsured even though it was in my name. During this time I did not have much money and was struggling, so i did not pay the insurance during that time. I recently received another notification stating that my license will be suspended as of September 25th. I recently aquired insurance and have been paying it for 2 months even before i received this letter in the mail. I called the DMV and informed them of this and they still told me i would have to serve the 90 day suspension. What can I do to get the suspension dropped? Is there anything I can do so that I will be able to drive at least to and from work?

You could try to ask for an informal hearing and see if they will waive it--or give you a right to work license etc.

That is what we do in my state.
