my employee claimed that I scratched the windsheild on her car when I washed it at work ( a restaurant) b/c she won a contest. Even though I did not think I scratched her windsheild I agreed to pay a glass company if she got a quote. That was four months ago and she never brought it up until I terminated her a week ago for not showing up for her shift. She sent me a quote and I wrote a check to the glass company, which she refused. She believes the check should be made out to her personally. I refused and said I would reimburse her if she got the glass repaired and brought me the invoice, or she could take the original check made out to the company that offered the quote. Am I right to only offer check to company? Should I let her take me to small claims court, there is no proof that I damaged her window and no police report was made, not to mention the day in question was four months ago.

That is a condition you can impose yes. If she disagrees and can prove her caase, she can file in small claims.
