i am in toronto, ontario
my friend was driving last night an a guy was runnin across the road...she tried to brake an then swerved twice to avoid him ..he followed her car perhaps in an effort to avoid it or watever but he ended up gettin hit anyway. She got out the car an checked if he was alright..he said he was he jumped up immediately after she hit him. she tried to get his info an called 911, offered to take him to the hospital an he refused evrything as he was walking off to his group of friends on the other side of the road. She is very upset an scared she said that him and his friends seemed very out of it as if they were on drugs or something but that she could tell he was hurt or would feel pain the next day. the 911 call is on record although she hung up withput reportin it and the pedestrian refused her help or to stick around or give his info. what should she do? should ny friend just leave it alone an see what happens or should she report it regardless?..and if she does report it what happens given the circumstances and what is the penalty for hitting somebody in ontario? please help cause she called me askin for advice and i dont know what to tell her but i dont want her to wait too long incase she should report it asap. |

Frankly it may be best to report what happened. She is not responsible if somebody jumps out onto a road where pedestrians are not supposed to be.
