Default Unfair car damage accusation!

Hello!

Long story short, my boyfriend and his sis had an arguement. He slided across her rental car's hood, because she was parked behind his boat. He caused a small dent wich popped back up right after. Before she left the driveway, since my boyfriend, his mother, and I were right at the driveway, we noticed no dents whatsoever before she took off upset. The next day she calls to let us know there are $500 worth of hood dents and my boyfriend is responsible for that amount.

We asked to go see the car that same day, and she and her husband told us no. But we went without them knowing because we know we have the right to check ourselves the suppost damage that was caused to see if we really needed to pay anything. Anyway, it was dark, so we had our light torch, and a digital camera, and took pictures of every corner of the car, including the plate to prove it was her rental car. We noticed NO DENTS not even scratches. The car was extremely dusty and didnt seem to have been checked by anyone to see or feel dents on the car.

We even try to feel it with our hands, and there were no dents. Well, we have the pictures, and witnesses that noticed no dents when she left my boyfriends property. They gave us TWO options, either he pays the $500 for repairs, or they press charges.

Could you tell me what charges could they press if they havent even let us get near the car, or taken it to a neutral place together, to check if there are any damages? They took it on themselves to go get a quote, but we haven't been able to do that. The incident happened 4 days ago, and if we hadnt taken the pictures, which proves there are no dents, they could have dent the car themselves to trick us. 4 DAYS LATER, and just today they call and say to come by tomorrow during the daytime to check the car ourselves, and for them to give us the two quotes which are around $500.

Thank you for your time.

It would be hard to press charges if he can argue it was an accident. They would have to prove he acted to destroy or damage the car.
