Confused liability in Florida?

I was in a car accident about a year ago. I sustained no major injuries but the other party involved did. I don't recall clear details of the accident. The officers cited the other driver and his insurance settled. Since then a witness has come forward who says it was my fault. The other driver's insurance is now denying liability. My policy is minimal and will not cover the bills if I'm found liable. What can they do to get their money? What is considered assets that they could "confiscate"? Is my husband also financially liable (we share a policy)? Do I need to hire a personal lawyer or let my insurance handle it for now? Thanks!

Default Re: liability in Florida?

Your insurer should handle it for you at this point. Don't worry about one person's claims until you know more about how the case is developing. But do speak with the insurer and stay close to what is happening.
