EEK! motorcycle wreck--rough road

I was going for a motorcycle ride on a major highway. There is missing concrete(potholes) in between the lanes I was changing to. My front tire hit the hole and caused the bike to wobble, which I couldn't control. I ended up laying the bike down and causing damage to the bike and me. I was told that I could sue due the poor road condition. Is this possible?

thank you

I live in Ohio but the wreck happened in Indiana. The bike repair bill will be under $1,000, but that's only because I'm doing the work myself.

thanks for the replies!
