I was in an accident 11 days ago. The other girl admitted it was her fault and her insurance is paying for my car repairs, but they refuse to compensate me for the 2 hours of work that I missed on the day of the accident and the 3 hours of work I missed yesterday for the insurance estimate (they made me go to one of their specific places where their insurance rep is on site, and the closest one was 45 minutes away!).
So, I've missed 5 hours of work and had to use my own gas money to drive almost an hour ONE WAY to get an estimate. I think they owe me a little bit of compensation for the lost time/wages, gas money and inconvenience! But, I've talked to 3 people from the insurance company and they all said that it's not in their policy to compensate unless I missed work due to injury from the accident. Had their insured person not ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of me, I would not have lost wages from work or gas money! I can't afford these losses! I want to know if there's anything I can do legally. Should I hire an attory to fight this for me? |

You could try suing in small claims. Often however lost wages are not compensated in such judgments.
