Hello, my question is: in Aug of 2005 I was involved in a serious auto accident that I am still being treated for. The person that hit me did not have insurance and it is my understanding that her car was leased. My insurance company is now willing to pay me $100,000 to cover my uninsured policy. Unfortunately most, if not all the money will be paid to surgeons hoping to fix my back. My med coverage is exhausted, also $100,000. I lost my med insurance due to the fact that I lost my job with an airline because of the injuries I sustained. Kinda sucks alot, dont you agree. I guess what I am asking is whether I have a case against the leasing company or dealer for owning the auto and not making sure that the leasee maintained the proper insurance. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

You may yes--have counsel review it and talk to several lawyers; but your insurance also normally should still cover you for an accident that occurred while you were covered. You may want to look at that issue as well.
