my lawyer sucks

I have a lawyer that has no idea what he is doing. it has been since 2004 since my PI case. I was rear ended at a red light and my back was injured. I have doctors that say i am a candidate for surgery due to this and i have heard nothing but excuse after excuse from my lawyer. During one of our diliberations i heard him actually being "budy budy"
with the opposing attorneys. He said that how it works with these cases. i know that is bull. what i would like to know is, Can i counter sue my lawyer and have him pay for his neglagence
because this has cost me more than word can discribe. And if so who would you recomend? I live in california, Irvine.

You should have a second lawyer review the status and what has happened; you can replace him if he has not done his duty. The State Bar can help you manage that situation at well in some cases.

Talk to the judge when your lawyer's name is called. Ask the judge to speak at that time! Tell him your situation and ask for an extended date so you can get a good lawyer. Good luck.
