Default Pennsylvania T-boned by female driver who ran a stop sign

On May 15th about 5:15 pm I was driving to my girlfriends house with our 3 month old son sleeping in his car seat when a woman talking on her cell phone ran a stop sign and slammed into my driver side door. One witness to the accident beeped her horn to try to get her to stop but it was too late. Others who witnessed the accident immediately called 911. After I was struck I climbed out of the car having trouble breathing I went to the passenger side of the car and took my son out of the car. I did not remove him from his car seat in fear that if he had an injury me removing him could have caused more damage. My son was crying hysterically so I tried to calm him while waiting for help. I never spoke to the female driver that struck me only police and EMT. My son and I were taken to a near by hospital. I had a concussion and bruised ribs. I was given a breathing machine to breath into 10 times every hour and wasn't able to return to work until the 22nd. After returning to work I was put on restrictions of lifting no more then 10 lbs. My 3 month old son was not physically hurt however when he sleeps or naps upon waking he screams and cries hysterically. He was examined at the hospital and was examined by his pediatrician. My son also screams and cries every time he is placed into his car seat. I notified my insurance company the next day. I obtained the police report information and gave it to my insurance company. On the police report the driver that struck me admitted to talking on her cell phone but denied running the stop sign. The police officer that I spoke to told me that there were enough witnesses that saw her run the stop sign and she was given a ticket and fine for running the stop sign. It has been a week now since the accident and I have not received much help from my insurance company or hers. When ever I spoke with her insurance company they told me that they can't do anything to help me until they got a statement from her. She was not in touch with her insurance company. They told me that they continued to call her but re never answered her phone or returned the phone calls. I requested a rental car but again they told me that even though they had the police report they we not able to help me until they got a statement from her. They deemed the car totaled and told me how much I would receive for the car but again I would not receive the check until they got her statement. During this time I have had no transportation. My car was the only car my family had. A couple days later my car insurance company called me and told me that I had to have my car removed from storage. I was told it was my responsibility to have the car towed and stored some where else. I called the garage where the car is being held and asked the owner of the garage how much time he would give me to have the car removed. He told me not to remove the car. Because the car was totaled he told me that it was not to be removed. I asked him how much I would be charged for storage fees and he told me that I was not responsible for the storage fees. At this point I am not sure what to do. I still have no car to get to work, get my girlfriend to work and get our other 8 year old son to school. I don't know how long this process is and I don't know if there is a time limit for the woman that struck me to call her insurance company. I don't know who is telling me the right things anymore. Between both insurance companies, the police and the man at the garage I don't know who to listen to. Should I be calling a lawyer? Am I just in a situation that I have to wait it out and struggle until they can resolve it or are they pulling one over on me? I don't know what the next step is or what my options are. I have lost money due to lost time at work, I am unable to do my regular work due to the injury I have, I have no form of transportation for my family and my 3 month old son has not been the same since the accident. If anyone could offer me any type of advice that may help me I would really appreciate it. Thank you
