SETTLEMENT
I was involved in a car accident im may of 2003. My husband was with me. My lawyer has told us before that we would receive approximatelly $15000 for me and my husband together. Later after seen our MRIs he has told us that we would receive appromatelly $17000 myself and $27000 for my husband. By the end of the case he has told us that we didnt have to go to court for the last time, that he would go in our behalf. Now he came telling us that we would only receive $5000 for the both of us and now he sent a letter for us to sign authorizing him to cash the check given to us for the amount of $4000 only. It doent make sense to me this whole thing. Does that look right? can i look for another lawyer since the case has ended?

It is odd. You may want to have another lawyer briefly look over what happened. You can't change lawyers now without paying normally, but you can investigate what has happened.
