Tony Treadwell
First we are English and while on holiday in Florida, we were involved in a car crash in Fort Piece on the East coast; we were stationary and hit from behind, the car driver that hit us is fully insured and so are we. My UK Insurance Company will pay most of the bills relating to the accident, hospital, clinics, medication etc however we were over in Florida to decorate and furnish the house we had just bought in September, The trip had been well planned and took a couple of days out from this work at New Year to see a Concert in Orlando. I ended up unable to drive or do any jobs around our home in Florida during the 10 days after the accident, my partner ended up doing the driving and is not that confidant, so travel and visiting friends etc was cancelled, the trip was a waste of time and money, we used all our working holiday entailment up on this trip. We both suffered badly travelling back on the plane and I am still in pain now. Although I could not get out the car after the crash my partner had the foresight to take pictures at the seen of the damage and the car we were pushed into, the car in font of us sustain no or little damage, but like myself the lady was taken to hospital as the impact to us was heavy. The police report has charged the driver who hit us with careless Driving.
How do we start a claim against him? Who do you recommend in that area of Florida to handle cases such as this?
