Confused Insurance Release Form

In McKinney Texas at the end of December 2008, a communications company truck hit the right front quarter panel, tire, rim and front bumper of my vehicle while I was in the right turn lane waiting to make a right turn. There were no injuries. That vehicle's driver was in the middle lane and apparently changed his mind and made a right without looking to see if another vehicle was already in the right turn lane. The local police were contacted and an accident exchange sheet was filled out by myself and the other driver. The communications company's insurance claims examiner sent an appraisor to evaluate the damage and a release form was subsequently sent for me to sign. I did not sign the document at that time because my vehicle had not been taken to the body shop to estimate the repair costs. As it turned out, hidden damage was discovered and the claims examiner had to send the appraisor out a second time. A supplemental appraisal was submitted and approved. I expected to receive an updated release form indicating the adjusted total but the claims examiner is asking me to sign the original release. Is it unreasonable for me to ask for an updated release showing the total repair costs? It has already been agreed to have the insurance company pay the body shop directly and I want to make sure they receive the total amount due.

Default Re: Insurance Release Form

With regards to this thread I would like to clarify that damage was to the left front quarter panel, tire, rim and front bumper. My apologies.
