Several months ago a kid was going too fast in my apartment parking lot and lost control and hit the parking shed. My car was one of the cars that was hit. Earlier this week I recieved a letter from the city municipal court saying I was being notified to be present in municipal court to testify as a witness. I work at the complex and was told to call the courts and tell them I was not going to be present. The time of court is not during my working hours and I plan to attend. I am not sure why this is going to court. I did not see the accident but heard it. I have no problems with going. I do not understand why my boss told me not to go. What should I do?

If you are subpoenaed you need to go even if it is only to tell them you did not see it.
