Unhappy with my lawyer... I do not agree with the settlement.

Can a lawer tell you that of i do not sign a check from the insurance co. that is a settlement. that if i do not sign the check she will file a law sute against me. i do not agreed with the settlement. In the state of FL. IS IT A LAW THAT the settlement check has to be hald in the lawer bank to clear before i get my money

You need not sign if you did not approve the settlement.

What actually happened?

You may also inform the State Bar if need be.

The check from the insurance co. was made out the lawer, my wife and me. I was hurt my wife was fine. the lawer said she had to sign the check. is My wife is given up her right to sute. I have permanent neurological condition. So my wife is head of house hold
