Passenger of wreckless driving crash
On september 3, 2007 I was involved in a car accident in North Carolina. I was the passenger in a "friends girlfriends" vehicle.(He was driving her car) He was speeding and lost control of the vehicle and flew off the road and hit a tree on my side. Needless to say, I received countless injuries as a result of this accident. I had a compound fracture in my right femur, 3 broken bones in my hand, and a pretty nasty cut on my right eyelid. All of these injuries required surgery and I ended up spending 6 days in the hospital. The hospital bills added up to be somewhere around 50,000 dollars. Not to mention the physical therapy I have not yet been able to afford (not covered under my current health insurance.) The driver was cited for reckless driving and also blew a .08 BAC. (the legal limit.) I have since accrued so much debt and had to move back in with my parents until I could afford to live on my own. I have also had to take a less physical job making much less money than I was before the accident and am still going through a lot of pain and limitations because of the injuries sustained. I need compensation for medical bills, wages lost, debt accrued, and for the immense amount of pain and suffering I am still to this day suffering. Do I have a case? And what can I expect to recieve. I know each case is different, but an estimate may help me sleep better at night knowing that this debt I am drowning in may one day disappear. Please help me. I need to know whether or not to pursue this.

--two or three times medical bills is sometimes a very rough guideline
It would seem that you have some grounds here. You should take a brief description of these events as well as your medical records to an injury attorney and see if the attorney thinks you have a claim; often you need to contact several attorneys to find one to take the case; the review of your case and records is often free and then they will normally take the case on a contingency fee basis if they think you can win; you would pay only if they collect for you. |
