I bought a double wide mobile home in July. I was told that a new roof was put on it (I even saw the guy working) and a new ceiling in the living room. About a month ago, we had major rain storms. My ceiling is leaking like crazy. It is all cracked and bubbled. I called the onsite managers and was told it would be taken care of. In the meantime, I find out that they slapped 5 gallon of tar on the roof and put the tin back over it. The tiles were replaced in the living room and a bit of insulation. To me, this is not a new roof. I was talking to a guy at work and he told me that my home had been through a flood in 1993 and only two foot of the top could be seen. I was immediately sick to my stomach. I was never told this. I would have never bought this home knowing that.
What can I do??? |

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office. You may have to argue they purposely misled you, committed fraud.
