Unhappy Own land that is siezed during war situation

What are my legal right, if I have a legal claim to land which has been seized during a war time situation. Am I still able to sell this land? Can I still claim this land? What are my options?

What actually happened? Do you have an actual deed now?

Unhappy Re: Own land that is siezed during war situation

First off thanks for the reply.

The following is the situation:

1. There is a deed for the land.
2. The owners want to see if they can sell the land, seeing that they can not get access to it anymore.

They want to know what are their rights and how to go about acting upon them.

If they are on the recorded deed they can sell it--the deed records govern...

Thumbs Up Re: Own land that is siezed during war situation

Thanks again for the feedback.

Can you give me a example of such a situation happening somewhere other then Europe and the US seeing that other countries may not necessarily respect the deed?

Thanks again for your help.

Confused Re: Own land that is siezed during war situation

Which court are we talking about? International or the local government court where the land is presently?

Can we just sell the land based on the deed to whomever wants to buy and take the risk and register the transaction in the original country? and let the new owner deal with the situation and let him/her deal with this issue.

Is this possible?

Thanks again for your help.
