I am writing to enquire if there are any regulatory requirements/ restrictions on Nepal Nationals by IRD who intend to purchase/purchased a residential property in Singapore.

Foreign investors are allowed to invest in the Singapore commercial property market with little restrictions. If you are wishing to buy a residential property then you can invest only in private apartment blocks and condominium units, and in this regard you can only purchase units in a building that has six stories or more. They are also prohibited from purchasing the entire building. Generally foreign investors cannot invest in Singapore residential landed property or public housing. So you can’t purchase a residential property. You can only invest in private apartment blocks or condominium units in Singapore.

How about any laws by the Nepal Government? Do they impose tax restrictions or any other restrictions on their citizens buying overseas property?

I have the same question about Indian nationals buying in the USA.

Indians can buy in the USA.

There may be some currency control issues if the money is all inside India to begin with. But you can do it.
