Default Need advice to buy property (condominium, condo fees, larger square footage)

Hi all,

We purchased a condominium a few years ago and have recently discovered that we have been charged the
same condo fees and assessments as owners having larger square footage units. When we brought this to
the Board's attention, they stated that we have been paying it all along and instead are now trying to change
the master deed and by-laws to simply divide all expenses equally among owners.
Any suggestion will be appreciable!

I wish to inform you that Condo fees are charged by two methods. Firstly, in many areas it is charged by way of a fixed fees which each Condo owner has to pay within the area. Second method is that Condo fees in some areas is charged by way of square footage of the unit. While buying the unit you can come to know the method applied for calculating Condo fees from the purchase agreement. In your agreement if the Condo fees is charged on the basis of square footage of ownership then you can contest the fees charged from you.
