Confused Quitclaim deed/Homeowners association

I've owned a vacant 2 acre property in Northern Michigan for 3 years. The property is part of an association. Upon purchase of property I received a warranty deed. Recently I was informed by the association president that I would need to quitclaim deed the property to the association and they would then quitclaim it back to me. He states that this should of been done at the time of sale, that it is for my protection and that all other members have done the same. In my limited knowledge of quitclaim deeds I do not know of any reason to do this. Any advise?

Default Re: Quitclaim deed/Homeowners association

Who issued the warranty deed? Them?

I don't see a great reason to do this. Ask them to explain in writing why.
