Default Frustrated in Santa Rosa short sale

We are currently in the process of attemping to purchase a short sale home. We made an offer to the current home owners. They accepted our offer of $295,000. They then approached their bank about selling the house as a short sale. The bank discussed the issue and agreed to sell the house via a short sale. The bank then claims it needs to assign someone to our offer to decide if the bank would be willing to accept $295,000. The bank had told us they would have an answer for us the following Monday as far as yes or no. It has now been over five weeks since we made our initial offer and the bank continues to claim they haven't assigned anyone to our case yet. What options do we have? Resubmit our offer for less money until they take us seriously? Give the bank an ultimatum? Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

Chris.

Just been informed, the bank is supposed foreclose on the house Friday supposedly. Still no feedback from the bank on our offer. I am suspecting at this time I should interpret that as my offer being declined. Supposedly the house is going to go to auction, so I suppose we'll see where that goes.

booked two nights for a recent family gathering. This motel met or exceeded my expectations in every way. No trouble with the reservation- I booked online and then phoned to confirm. I had a family suite in the back facing the pool. The room was clean, comfortable, and in good condition. There was minimal traffic noise and no noise from the other rooms. The pools were clean (though small) and the landscaping really lovely.
