Unpaid debts of customer

Unpaid debts of customer
Have $1800 unpaid. My former custoemr sold the business owing me this money, now he refuses to answer my calls to his cell, etc. Do I sue him or the new owners for this debt in small claims court??

You can name both of them in the suit and let them fight it out.
