My questions are regarding copyright laws --
Part 1. I am going to open an online store and would like to sell framed posters that contain quotes or sayings. For example, I have one that the author is “Anonymous” and another example is a quote by Satchel Paige. One other example would be Bible quotes. My question is this – is it a copyright violation to sell a poster containing a quote? Part 2. I would like to use clip art to decorate the quotes. The source of the clip art is part of the Microsoft Office software that I own. My question is this – can I use this clip art for decoration on the posters that I plan to sell or is that a copyright violation? Thank you! Last edited by cathyj5 : Mar 16th, 2007 at 10:42 AM. |

You can use public works quotes but not copyrighted books and the like. Most software allowes you to use the art--even commercially but check the terms !
