Ebay Closing Account

I have an account in ebay. In September of 2007, someone got into my account and used the Seller Id to illegally sell cars. I had to make a police report to protect myself. Ebay was contacted, but it happened again within a week. Although no one bought the "cars" I chose to close my ebay account. Their policy is that the account will close within 180 days. It is now July 2008 and the closure is "pending". No one will help me to close it or give me a date. Do I have any control over this account?

Tell them you may take legal action.

They normally should expedite the issue.

Can the account be used while pending? Are you protected now in that state?



If need be you can have legal counsel issue a notice to them.

The scenario worsens. I followed their directions and requested that my account be closed immediately. Their employee misread my email (it was very clear) and reactivated my account. I printed out my email and my subsequent chat conversations, but as I await a response from an agent at this moment, they have told me to reapply for a closure (it takes up to 180 days) though my last request has taken 9 months.

The account may not be used while pending. However, the reason for the closure is that someone used my Seller Id and that was supposed to be safe too. I just want out and they won't seem to let me do it. I even have a police report to protect myself from when someone else attempted to sell "cars" using my account.
