llc negligence

i signed a contract with a company that was LLC, in thier contract it states that i get paid on a...pay as paid well this company paid me every week as they got paid for around 5 weeks, they held back 3 weeks before i got first pay, on the 5th or 6th week i went to get my pay and the company was gone, (we work storm relief) i called them and ask about my pay and they said that they had made a bad investment (not pertaining to our buisness) and had lost the money and couldnt pay me. they got me for $17,000 I called the company that paid them and they said that they were paid in full, and the comany i had contract with ageed they had been paid in full.
i also paid them a 10% retainer that they said they will not pay unless i settle for 30% on the dollar of the wages they owe me, question is...can i get past the LLC and go after their personal property on the grounds of them neglecting to pay me my labor as the contrat stated? Thanks Kenneth

You can certainly try that yes. And even the attempt to do that is likely to cause them to compromise.

You can argue fraud as well!
