Hello, my name is Luis and I have quite an issue on my hands. You see I
am currently a college student. When I first started I tried looking for online jobs that would make my life \"easier\" instead of working for the school. As I was driving I heard an infomercial about a company called Internet Speedway, on the radio. It did sound too good to be true, but I was a bit naive at the time. I called them up and the service was that I would create my own website with pre-stocked items in their warehouses. Then I had to go through other steps to make sure to let my business accept credit cards and to drive traffic to it. Since I\'m in school I knew this wasn\'t going to work out to well. So I purchased another one of their products which is an upgrade to this basic program. I purchased the Gold Member upgrade, which, or at least the representative said, guaranteed me 100,000 people worth of traffic. I was uneasy about the whole idea because the price on it was $3,500. He then said he wouldn\'t pressure me and that he would give me 1 year of free hosting, 200,000 people worth of free traffic and I would have people who could help me design my website. I was still unsure and I told him that I would need to talk to my parents about it. What he said after should\'ve sent a red flag flying up in the air for me. He said that i shouldn\'t even think about it since it\'s my money and not my parents. He kept repeating that, and promised me that with the traffic that Internet Speedway guaranteed I would be making the lower end of six figures a year...at least. Being a college student I said yes, i\'ll buy it. We went through an agreement and he told me that he was to record what i said, and i was fine with that. So all i had to do now was to come up with a name for my website and a logo. He then transfered me to another person who was in charge of website designs. I told him i wasn\'t ready with the information and he said it was ok. He persisted on calling me at least twice every week for about 2 weeks. Until i fina! lly felt pressurized and came up with the web site\'s name. But before all this happened, the day after i had agreed to purchase the upgrade i searched Internet Speedway on google.com. The first few articles that came up were all from Rip-Off Report.com. This made me nervous and i immediately called to cancel the membership. The representative said that it was too late to cancel. Then i called my bank telling them not to let Internet Speedway take funds out of my account...they had already taken $1000 dollars that very day, though. I called my representative again and told him to cancel my membership and again he told me the same thing. So now i thought that it was futile to ask for a refund. Today I called them again, and it has been about 3-4 months since i purchased this product. I told them, finally, i wanted a refund because i need money for books, expenses, and all the good stuff at college. They had me transfered a bunch of times and finally i talked to someone who knew about the subject. First he told me that the product is non-refundable, even though i wasn\'t satisfied with it. Then, he said that i shouldn\'t have waited so long for a refund...So i said, wait a minute...i thought you said it was non-refundable. I think this is where he slipped because he kept saying that it was a non-refundable fee. He then told me that my representative was just a consultant and he had no authority to cancel or refund my account. I then said, why didn\'t he transfer me to the proper department. And he said that the consultant\'s job was just to upgrade my membership. I said, ok...whatever. I hung up, and now i\'m writing this letter. So far till this day i have had lots of traffic, and i accept credit cards on my website, to my knowledge, but i have not had a single sale. I\'m really sorry for the long email, but I really am in need of my money and right now I can\'t pay attention to the online business i have set up because i am drowning in school work. Again, i\'m sorry for the long message but i hope you reply and ! you can help. Thank You. |

Based on what you say here, you could file suit against them (or at least threaten to do so) in small claims court or in regular court; filing in small claims court is easier and requires no attorney...you could try to collect all of the costs and damages that you suffered due to their behavior... You may also report them to your state attorney general's office. World Law attorneys could also become directly involved, if need be.
