nonprofit acquisition of for-profit
I have a 501-(c)-3 nonprofit Media Arts Training corporation. A for-profit Media Arts Training corporation wants to be 'absorbed' by us. It would be an awesome opportunity for our nonprofit to takeover this for-profit organization, which is much larger than ours. They've offered to 'sell' us the company for a very small price. How do we go about this procedure?

You may want to do a basic asset sale/purchase (as opposed to stock)--take their assets and make them a part of your operation.
Advisable of course to have legal counsel involved as this will have a few complicated parts. |
