Question is..Over the weekend on saturday looked at used 99 explorer suv..negotiated a price of 2.500.50,,they wrote up a basic contract, and had me write a personal check for the amount and said they would hold it for 7 days,,and also said I could drive the vehicle over the weekend to make sure it was what I was wanting,,this was verbal..I returned the vehicle after driving it for 2 days it wasn't what i was wanting,,it had issues and no warranty,,it was as is warranty,,all together i had the vehicle for about 70 hrs...2.5 days.,,when i returned it ofcourse they were not pleased and stated that i would have to keep it no matter what,,they mentioned they would try to tow it to my house and bring it back,,or they would have a finance company send me a bill,,,on and on..well i live out in the rural area east of oklahoma city,,so they cannot tow it back to my house,,,and all they have is my home phone,,and my p.o. box address...but they did zerox a copy of my drivers license...Anyway question is don't i have consumer rights to return this vehicle back to them within 72hrs? Or any rights under the law to return? I stopped payment on the check the day i returned the car,,I havent heard from them at all for 4 days now,,but today is the day they were going to cash the check so to speak,,,Also I had a major problem the same day i was looking at the car, when i got home that evening test driving the car I had found that the water well on my property had gone out and was not pumping water,,that was a priority and a major fix,,took most of my funds,,so i did not have the cash anyway after all that,,,thanks for any info on this..

You don't have any automatic right, but if they said you could test it and return it, then that is binding on them.

Thanks for that Info,,,But question is they gave me the option to test drive over the weekend was verbal and not notated on the paperwork? So i'm guessing it's anyway you want to slice it as to if they want to pursue it. Also I failed to mention in my original posting,,and the site would not let me edit after i posted my original question,,Was that the vehicle had possible safety issues the ABS warning light on dash remained on at all times and the Air Bag warning light remained illuminated at all times..

They would have to lie under oath if you went to small claims--they did give you the test drive option.
