Default Dog sold under false pretenses, we want her back.

We had a cocker spaniel, 5 months old. Let's call her Mesha. We moved here (Nevada) in a sort of emergency state, and had to pick the first apartments that would let us in. We could keep the dog if we paid $350, and we decided we would wait to pay it, and just hide her (paying back the $15 monthly fees ofcourse). The apartments found out a month before we were ready and we had to rehome her.
A woman found me, she seemed lovely. I found out her and the man she was with were using fake names, and gave me a fake address. I found out through one of their family members that they overbreed their dogs, and they told me they were going to spay her immediatly. I asked pretending to be someone wanting a new puppy, and they said they were going to breed her in a few months. You aren't supposed to breed a Cocker until they're 2 years old, and she won't even be 1 in that time. I'm afraid for the dog, and we wanted her back anyway. Four days had passed and I asked for her back, but they refused, even though I offered to pay twice what she was worth.

Given the circumstances, is there anything at all that I can do?

Thank you so much.

I wish to inform you that a dog is treated as a thing while determining ownership. In this regard you can have your dog back if you can show that agreement was either void or voidable. You may claim that by misrepresenting information to you other lady have misrepresented material information to contract and thus you declare the contract as void and so under restitution your dog must be returned back to you. If other lady refuses then a lawsuit can be filed.

Once you gave the property to someone else it is theirs to use as they see fit. Investigation first is a better course of action.

Lacking a signed contract in which they agree to spay her there is nothing you can do.
