Unhappy Possible that a contract I signed in June 2010 is Voidable?

Hi. I'm a University Student in Ottawa looking for some legal advice regarding a contract I had signed in June 2010 for a recreational Kickboxing Dojo as a client.
I asked the company the other week what happens if I can no longer pay as a student who just lost their job, basically I've been told that I cannot leave and I do not have a right to cancel. I honestly think that first of all that this statement is crazy, and that I do have some rights as a consumer to break a contract under extenuating circumstances.
Also It does not state anywhere in the contract the rights I am guaranteed too, nor the rules or regulations of the Dojo itself. In fact, the application/contract itself states:
"The applicant's failure to complete the said course shall in no way absolve the Applicant from the obligation to pay the amount set out above. In witness whereof the parties have executed the Agreement,"

First of all, I have no Idea what this statement means, and I was not even told what it really meant when I signed it. Second of all, there is no witness signature on my contract.

There is also two spots on the contract that do not agree with each other, which is the period of months I am to attend, 12.5 weeks, and then again 12 weeks in another spot.

Then again, I do not know if they have the ability to claim it but they have stated in the contract that that even when one is injured and cannot perform or even come into the Dojo that they must and have to pay.

I do not know whether or not that any of what I have stated is valid, or has something behind it. I really need to know if I'm being served an injustice. These people are basically scamming me into staying, or doing their best to keep their clients no matter what.
I'm a poor university student. Please help!

I wish to inform you that when validity o a particular clause is decided then that clause meaning is to be read by reading complete contract. In your case the contract may not be voidable because a contract is voidable when it is caused by fraud, coercion or undue influence. However if you break the contract then you may be liable only for the direct losses which other party has suffered because of your breach of contract. You may at any time leave and may not be kept at Dojo. However you may terminate contract if you can show that terms was not informed to you.
