Default Does my employer owe me? -- employee handbook, dollar raise

Upon accepting an offer of employment, I was told that every year on Jan. 1 I would recieve a one dollar raise. This is also stated in employee handbook. After being employed with the company through Jan. 1, 2010 and Jan. 1, 2011, I have not recieved a one dollar raise for either. Is the employer obligated to back pay me for the raises I never recieved?

I wish to inform you that your employment contract primarily and then your employee handbook will govern your rights. In this regard in both your contract as well as handbook it is mentioned that you will receive dollar one raise and hence you deserve dollar one raise. When you were employed at that time by telling you that you will get raise of dollar one your employer had made this condition as one of the condition of your employment and your employee handbook will further support your claim to dollar one raise. Hence you may demand from your employer dollar one raise.
